Pricing, Booking, & Payment

Thank you for your interest in booking a tour event with Walking Home tours. Our pricing, booking and payment policy is outlined below. Should you have any questions please contact me at Jeff@walkinghome.tours.
Pricing: At present there are three principal tour events either currently offered or under development by Walking Home tours. Pricing for each tour event is as follows:

I) Shiloh - "Cry 'Havoc!', and let slip the dogs of war."
a) POV Patron (i.e. self-transport): $36 per person.
b) COV Patron (i.e. chartered transport): to be determined. *
II) Corinth - A Council of War, and the burden of command. Under Development.
a) POV Patron (i.e. self-transport): to be determined.
b) COV Patron (i.e. chartered transport): to be determined. *
III) Fort Donelson - A gallant fight and an ill-fated fort. Under Development.
a) POV Patron (i.e. self-transport): to be determined.
b) COV Patron (i.e. chartered transport): to be determined. *

NOTE: There is alternate pricing for YOUTH and CHILDREN.
Booking: As a normal practice, all events of Walking Home tours are announced at least five weeks prior to the date of the program. This time period is used for, 1) promotion of the upcoming event; 2) payment for the upcoming event; 3) procurement of third-party vendors to support the event.
Event Type - An event may be booked as a POV (privately owned vehicle) patron or, on special advertised events, COV (charter owned vehicle) patron. These patrons are:

POV patron: An attendee that provides his own way to and from the event.

COV patron: An attendee that travels to and from the event on transportation provided by Tour Operator.
Announcement Date – The calendar date at which time promotion and registration will be opened. The registration will remain open from the announcement date until 1) all tickets are sold, 2) the date of the tour, or 3) the event is rescheduled.
Booking Agents - If you are registering on behalf of another you are considered a Booking Agent. On the registration form you must check the applicable box if you are acting as a Booking Agent and enter in your first and last name. Subsequent questions will ask you what agency or organization you are with, your email address, and your phone number. You must enter all the information. In this role you are responsible for facilitating all payment requirements. You also declare that you are acting on behalf of another and they have authorized you to accept all items under the Terms and Conditions on their behalf. You are also responsible for making sure the person on whose behalf you are making a reservation has all the relevant information for the upcoming tour event.
Tour Capacity - The philosophy regarding interactive tour events at Walking Home tours is to keep tours small enough to provide a quality experience. Accessibility of the guide to the patrons is key. Educators have long noted the benefits of smaller class sizes over larger ones. Interactive touring is a similar situation, an outdoor “classroom” if you will. With that as our foundation, the following limitations apply:

I) Tour Size – Ideal tour size is from 25 to 30 patrons.
a) Minimum number of patrons is 10.
b) Maximum number of patrons is 40.
i) On special occasions Walking Home Tours is agreeable to staging for larger tour groups such as field trips. All such tour events must be prearranged prior to the event with a special exclusive tour date dedicated to that particular event. For such inquires please email me at Jeff@walkinghome.tours.
II) Wait List – Those who wish to attend an upcoming event, should capacity be filled, will be placed on a Wait List. If open slots become available, those placed on the Wait List will be notified beginning with those first placed on the list.
III) Charter vehicle – For special advertised events, transportation provided by Walking Home tours is in the form of 12 to 15 passenger vans.
Payment: Payment is required at time of registration/ticket purchase.
I) Method - Payment will be made with major Credit/Debit card through website via Wix Payments.

Discounts - Walking Home tours do wish to accommodate groups such as home school associations, public and private school groups, church groups, hereditary organizations, civic organizations, and military staff field trips. As such we offer group pricing for exclusive groups that purchase a designated minimum number of slots for a specific pre-selected date. Pricing for group discounts is based on a three-tiered system as indicated below.
Tier 1 Minimum number of patrons: 20 = 10% Discount off listed ticket price.
Tier 2 Minimum number of patrons: 25 = 15% Discount off listed ticket price.
Tier 3 Minimum number of patrons: 30 = 20% Discount off listed ticket price.

* COV (chartered transport) tours are on special occasion events and will be advertised as such. As a normal course, Walking Home Tours are POV (privately owned vehicle) self-transport events where the patron is responsible for their own transport to and from the event.
